A teenage youth was taken into custody in connection with the alleged rape of a six-year-old in the village of Agarathenna in the Passara divison, police said today.
The youth was taken into custody following a complaint by the toddler’s parents, police said.
The said the alleged rape had taken place when the child was alone at home with the suspect, they said.
The suspect is a close relative of the victim.
Passera police are conducting further investigations.
