Copy %appdata%/Thunderbird folder. To restore, run new thunderbird once. Then u will see tht directory will be create. Then u have find a folder with random letters in ur old backup. Go in to it. Copy all and paste the content to newly creat thunderbird folder's random name folder. I have done it many many times. Just ask me if anything wrong.
