Well about jesus and buddha..May be they really did something like that.
Once a Barahmin visited buddha and he wanted to start a conversation about ''how the universe came in to being.'' Buddha simply rejected it because he knew The answer is too complex for the brahmin to understand..and thereafter buddha named five (as I can remember) questions he wont answer under any circumstances.. and the question of time travel was among them..

but It is said in the old sutras, that the buddha had a vision of future ( Divya chakku ghyana or something similar) which allows him to see what happens in the future.. This vision is obtained thruogh hard meditation sessions. It is said in the rumours that , the monks tibet still practise this meditaion routines, and some of them have actually earned the vision.
