There are many little tweaks you can do, just search in google. But more often than not, these tweaks can't help much, especially if you have a very bad/slow connection.

Whatever you do, always keep remember how undo each change, because some of these tweaks could end up making things worse.

My link pointed to google search results for the phrase "how to speed up torrents", if you go through those hits you'll see several sites sugesting several different tweaks.

Eg :
Link 1 : Speed up your torrents
Link 2 : How Do I Speed Up My Torrent Downloads?

As I said before, None of these tweaks are guaranteed to work, you could endup making things worse than they already are, so be careful. And if they don't seem to be making any progress then undo the change, because some tweaks like modifying Windows network settings could cause other problems..
