I've been on a tutorial kick of late, so here is another one of mine.



I'm sure you have come across a few of those ebook or software websites that offer you a chance to download those products as soon as you give them your credit card number. Ever wonder how you can get those without paying?

Well, In this article I will show you how to get a few of those things very easily with some simple search terms. But first, I want to give you a bit of background on how this works.

Search engines catalog every webpage it can get access to. So if a search engine has cataloged the page of a website that you have to pay to view, it should show up within search results. Meaning that the page was cataloged after a person has paid to gain access to it. To download something for example.

So now, that search engine can give anyone access to the product page that has already been paid for by someone else. You just need the correct search terms to find them.


Here are the search terms:


"Here is your download link" +yoursearchterm


"Thank you for buying" +yoursearchterm


"Thank you for ordering" +yoursearchterm


"Thank you for purchasing" +yoursearchterm


"Thank you for subscribing" +yoursearchterm


"Thank you for your order" +yoursearchterm


"Thank you for your payment" +yoursearchterm


"Thank you for your purchase" +yoursearchterm


Say that you want to find "pay to download" ebooks, then try "Thank you for your purchase" +ebook. That will bring up the page that you get after you were suppose to pay for the ebooks. But you get that page for free now since it has been cataloged by the engine.


Or, you could try them all together like this:


Intext:"Here is your download link" OR "Thank you for buying" OR "Thank you for ordering" OR "Thank you for purchasing" OR "Thank you for subscribing" OR "Thank you for your order" OR "Thank you for your payment" OR "Thank you for your purchase"


With those search terms you can try to find a whole host of things. Experiment and see what you can come up with.


Now say that you wanted to find hosting plans for free that you would normaly have to pay for. That takes a different search term from the others:


"begin.html" "Welcome to" "cp" "H-SPHERE" -Fee


That will enable you to get a hosting plan you would have had to pay for normaly. Just give them fake details at sign up and you are good to go.

If you have a dynamic IP (I think SLT ADSL users get dynamic IPs).. when rapidshare gives you the message for wait for few hours... just switch off & on your modem. Then try to download it again... this should work...

This tutorial is going to assume a few things....

1. You have at least 2 neurons in your brain and that there is not to much tar build up between them from smoking tweed.

2. Your already partitioned and ready to go. (If you need a tutorial on partitioning I cant help you)

3. You have heard of a shell and know how to get one going.

Alright so lets begin. I'm going to cover installing backtrack to harddrive to ways. #1 with a /boot partition and #2 where bt is all on one partition. (just a side note. The team is trying to shy away from HD installs and is encouraging USB install which in my humble opinion is the best way to go).Most of this info is from various sources on the wiki and I will attempt to put it into one tutorial for newer members.
So you have a fresh HD with 3 partitions..
sda1=/boot
sda2=swap
sda3= /

Boot your live cd and open a bash shell and begin.

If your swap is not yet made then do this..(otherwise omit this step)
bt~#mkswap /dev/sda2
bt~#swapon /dev/sda2

bt~#mkdir /mnt/backtrack
bt~#mount /dev/sda3 /mnt/backtrack/
bt~#mkdir /mnt/backtrack/boot/
bt~#mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/backtrack/boot/ (note: If you only have one partiton to install backtrack to simply omit this step)
bt~#cp --preserve -R /{bin,dev,home,pentest,root,usr,etc,lib,opt,sbin,va r} /mnt/backtrack/ <<< note: there is no space in var. Seems to be a glitch in the matrix
bt~#mkdir /mnt/backtrack/{mnt,proc,sys,tmp}
bt~#mount --bind /dev/ /mnt/backtrack/dev/
bt~#mount -t proc proc /mnt/backtrack/proc/
bt~#cp /boot/vmlinuz /mnt/backtrack/boot/

Now for lilo.
bt~#chroot /mnt/backtrack/ /bin/bash
bt~#nano /etc/lilo.conf

Now I like to delete all the bulls**t in the lilo config file so here is what mine would look like. (remember to set your own VGA accordingly )

lba32
boot /dev/sda
prompt
timeout=60
change-rules
reset
vga=791
image = /boot/vmlinuz
root = /dev/sda3
label = backtrack3_final

Excellent. Save that and then execute lilo (I like to use the verbose flag)
bt~#lilo -v

after that exit your chroot enviorment
bt/~exit

and reboot and cross your fingers

bt~#reboot

manual deletion of viruses

First u hv to know abt d files tat r in the root drive: i.e: C:\

AUTOEXEC.BAT
CONFIG.SYS
Documents and Settings
IO.SYS
MSDOS.SYS
Program Files
Temp
WINDOWS
NTDETECT.COM
ntldr
Boot.ini


The files in red r important files n r hidden in root Dir. C:\

Except these files if there r other files with puzling names r viruses nn having extention of one of these files n sometimes having same name with little change

like abt 6 months ago a virus is found ntde1ect.com (a virus)which resembles NTDETECT.COM


A virus hav one autorun.inf file to run it

Now here the trick starts:

1. Close Explorer from Taskmanager

Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc togeather
Task manager opens with processes
Right click on exlporer.exe n click endprocess

2. Click on File tab in taskmanager ->Run -> cmd -> press enter

3. Go to the root of c:
Type cd\
Type dir
now u see the files n folders of drive C:\ but not hidden files
Then type attrib -r -s -h *.*
Type dir

Now u ll able to see files n folders including hidden too
Now search for virus
The files mentioned above, if any file resembling withs those name or some meaningless name with .exe extention or extention of these files r viruses

First delete autorun.inf file


4. Deleting autorun.inf file.

Type del autorun.inf /a/s/f/q

Type del virus name.extention /a/s/f/q

5. Now repeate the process for all ur drives

6. Type regedit
7. Now press Ctrl+F n search for virus in registry by typing virus name in search box
n delete all virus files
Search untill no files of virus is found

8. Type in cmd
attrib +r +s +h *.*

then type exit


9. Now type in Run of task manager explorer.exe n press enter

No virus is in ur pc now
