    First of all Gas treatment is not a Octane booster. 92 petrol in sri lanka nowadays not 92 really. ( even accepted by my fellow shed owner)
    So even with octane booster the performance is under power with 92 octane. Turbo is not getting started like when you are using 95.

    Anyways it’s your money and your choice but if I were you I wouldn’t touch the vehicle market now. Here are my reasons;

    - There will be a price correction in June/July

    - 95 will get extinct if situation worsens

    - Spare parts will become a major issue

    - Octane Boosters are waste of money
    What do you mean by price correction? Simple example I can give to you that shit will not improve is, Let's take a vitz

    Back in 2018 (brand news 2018 shit)
    Japan auction price 1.5milY (1Y=1.5LKR) --> 2.2mil LKR
    SL Duty --> 2.2mil LKR
    Total --> 4.5mil LKR (roughly. This is personally imported price.)

    Now in 2021 the above will be
    Japan auction price 1.5milY (1Y=2.75LKR) -->4.2mil LKR
    SL Duty --> 2.2mil LKR (Let's say it doesn't change)
    total --> 6.5mil LKR

    current market price 7mil to 8mil

    Now the second calculation has a very little chance to change because it is directly tagged to the exchange values. Also with the new directions of IMF they will not lower the duty but as a matter of fact might increase it even further if they allow to import vehicles.

    So my personal view is vehicle prices will remain the same for a quite a long time and it has a better chance of going up than coming down.

    Guys,

    Decided to go for a civic 1000cc. Now the problem is octane 95. Heard a temp solution will be using 92+octane booster. So if you guys can, help me out with the following

    1. Recommend an octane booster I can buy from SL. I saw the following on daraz but not sure if it is the right one. (https://www.daraz.lk/products/stp-g...a0e.searchlist.list.6.7be63830ZBq8G5&search=1)
    2. How to use it? Saw that you need to put this before filling the tank to full
    @Hyaenidae @PHBhagya hope you fuckers can help me :-). The rest of the gang too is welcome as long as you don't shit on this thread :-D

    Thank in advance
    Does the car manual say that you have to use Octane 95? or did you hear that someone was telling?

    Yea you may be right, If prices are going to change it will only change between 0.5 to 1 million only.

    I also own a civic 2017. Civics with 1.0L UK engine need 95. Its noted in the manual and also the fuel cap says pump only 95+. But I heard the Japan Models (JDM) with 1.5L engine can also run with 92. Also I heard these new civics have a knock sensor and if engine knock occurs because of low octane fuel, vehicle adjusts the timing of the engine and reduces the performance. Not sure.
    Today I pumped IOC 93. Lets see.
