My sapphire HD5450 DDR3 (1GB) VGA shows 500 MHz on GPU-Z (it gives a sucky 8 Gb/s) .

But this card (sapphire HD5450 1GB DDR3) usually have 667 MHz (around 11 Gb/s) as i searched through the internet. Will I just increase memory speed to 667MHz using overdrive? (Current no-load temperature is 50C)

    it should b like this

    ATI_RADEON_HD5450_VIDEO_CARD_GPU-Z.png

try it with the latest version of gpu z
and in gpuz click sensors and click on those cloks to see the max(small green words will appear

if its working properly dnt try to do anythng.if this not working u will hav to check the voltages

    GPU-z version 0.5.9 (latest) reports as 500 MHz, DDR3 and 8 Gb/s
Catalyst version 12.1 (latest) reports as 500 Mhz, DDR3

Now i overclocked it to 650 Mhz (processor), 800 Mhz (memory)
Now both above says 800 Mhz and 12.8 Gb/s
But no-load temperature is dangerously increasing !! shit i'm turning it off!!:shocked:

I reported a bug to sapphire support center.

P.S: Catalyst reports memory type as hyper memory, 2426 MB. That's nuts, right? :sorry::sorry:

Well, the actual memory speed should be 800 Mhz, that's why i increased it.

The product brochure says the speed as 1600 Mhz for sapphire 1 GB HD5450 HM DDR3 (hypermemory) VGA. Which means 800 Mhz * 2 (when given by DDR2 terms). That's how the 800 MHz comes

Does this card has no dedicated VGA memory at all?:oo::oo:

mchn if it plays games fine just kp it as it is.or go for a betr vga.doing these thousands of research dsnt help ultimatly at the end u end up screwing up yr vga.

since its sapphire it shld not contain these type of core erros.may b smthn wrong with sensors or drivers.even if u come with few more spees it dsnt help much ,may be ull be able to increase one more FPS.

conclusion:if its not broken don't try to fix it

I updated the intel MB bios .... but it did not help.
Now trying to revert back to catalyst 11.8 (now i have 12.1) to see whether that works.

Reverting to catalyst 11.8 didn't install, then installed 11.12 but nothing changed. Checked the techpowerup vga bios database, and all the list items for my exact vga was saying memory as 800 MHz.

Will try to flash the VGA bios in the weekend, now i don't have time. You should understand, with 500 MHz my core i3 integrated graphics and radeon 5450 has almost same performance. :growl::growl: Need to increase it to 800 Mhz.

Overclocking to 667 MHz for now.
