Actually what is the best for a Email/FTP/Web server not as a desktop.

Debian, CentOS, FreeBSD, ClerkConnect, OpenSuse,etc.

Im not using fedora. If Red Hat Enterprise Linux is better than Fedora, why we are using that?

REHL and Fedora are the same. Redhat funds the fedora project.
Only difference is that REHL is not free.

I'm using CentOS another RHEL clone but FREEEEEEEEE. It's a best for a Server.

Its not a clone, its using the same REHL software but only the components Redhat gives out as open source.

I have a Problem With Open solaris(Free CD).

I Have 5 cds. But I Can't install using any of them. when i use SunxVm it loaded and asking for username & Password.
In My pc It stucks.
I thing It is a hardware Problem. later i have same with ubuntu. but i solve it.
My Pc is P4 3.0GHz, MSI P4900M2 Mother board, 2gb ram,Foxconn Nvidia Geforce 9400 Gt VGA

I also got the live CD and same problem with Gigabyte MB.


But I try it with Asus & Intel, then no problem. I think problem is in BIOS. Try to disable BIOS caching.


But remember this, Solaris sucks more memory and CPU than linux.

If no one buys REHL, how the heck are they going to make money to fund Fedora ?
Also REHL comes with a 8 year production cycle and paid support.
Also it has partnered with other big wigs like Oracle for proprietary software.
Try installing Oracle on some one linux distro and see.

the version you have is for x86 hardware ?

Bad news.
The source cannot be compiled. Even with GCC 3.4 installed. The recommended method is to use ubudsl.

What happens when you use ubudsl for this modem ?

Ubuntu 8.10 is plug and play for e220 modem. no additional needed. tryd by my own.....

Mint is pretty much Ubuntu with a few addons and cosmetics.
Give Fedora 11 (will be out in a day or two) a try with that modem.
Or better yet, get a router.

if IDM is increasing the speed, then its doing some fooling. Your download speed is directly dependent on the internet connection speed. not the downloading program.
