and the ultimate gamers edition. this is around 3gb but worth it

    Windows Mobile in a PC?????

Well i certainly dont want to have PDA operating system in my PC. Well if you want to know the mobile side of Linux. now Motorola is using linux based system for there mobile phones which makes it more faster, reliable and patches and virus free. linux will take the mobile world in no time as it did with the PCs.
Just take a look at this. How linux beats windows mobile.
    http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT8728350077.html

If youre talking about the GUI side of Vista. try the Ultimate ubuntu Edition. That thing beats Vista from a 10mile lead. When i installed it on a laptop of one of my friends in the university, the first thing others asked was "hey is this vista?" im not bluffing about this. just take a look at yourself.

    Heres the booting Up

    Hi machangs !

yeh i too use ubuntu ! nice outlook. But its JUST nothing when u compare it with xp :) . I still remember how ridiculous it was when i wanted to setup the system for automatic USB detection with Kubuntu (dapper + Kde).

But If you are an ordinary user who need a pc with free os which can do most of the things what XP does . (or simply if you wanna have XP look at free of cost) Then Ubuntu is a good start.

and the other messy thing with Ubuntu is that they release every 6 months. This means that every 6 months the web is flodded with articles about installing Ubuntu; articles about what’s good, articles about what’s bad, articles about how to fix what’s bad and thereby showing that Ubuntu still is good, articles about upgrading, articles about installing on a clean system, articles about Ubuntu chaning lives, articles about how installing Ubuntu saves a kitten.

    he he.

    he he.

Youre wrong buddy! the ubuntu has the best USB detection ever and USB tranfer speed is really better than XP. for example Ive a sony ericcson K750i and ifi want to connect it using xp, ive to install the drivers and the proper software in in XP, but in UBUNTU just pug it in and WOLA!!! Its taken!!! and the file transfer is much better than XP, and the samething with Printer. for most USB printers out there in the market, you have to instal the drivers in XP. but that not a problem in Ubuntu . just plug it in, its taken like that!. one of the other reasons i changed from XP to ubuntu was that problem, installing devices. when you install a driver in XP you have to go to the driver providers site and get an update. cuz of ubuntu repotry updates, you get all the updates when they are released, cuz ubuntu updates are maintained the ubuntu team and aswell as the ubuntu community.
So you seee ubuntu is the best when it comes to first hand GUI and device intergration infact ubuntu is all about giving the best perfomance, and the other point is the original ubuntu is not intended for GUI perporses, its mainly for better perfomances.

talking about 6month ne releases, yes they do release frequent versions, and who demands you to install them? the current ubuntu you have in your system will do all the work for you, ubuntu is upgrading cuz of its community, cuz its free and lots of people can make changes to it and make it better,
cuz XP has huge security holes and unstable they have to releases pacthes renamed UPDATES!!!. when you patch a shirt too much, it get ugly and messy and you dont want to use it anymore!

machan ubuntu can do anything and more what XP can, just name anything that you think ubuntu cant do and XP can..?

    I am a .NET developer :) , got it ?
    I am a music composer/ DJ :), got it ?

My friend , You have been truly misguided !! USB transfer speed is OS INDEPENDENT !

Ubuntu default (GNOME) GUI is Flashy , But if you just in love with the Look, Don't use GNOME, Have kubunu or install KDE in ubuntu and see then you will say UBUNTU is the best OS for the coming 4000 Years ! he he.

when you patch a shirt too much, it get ugly and messy and you dont want to use it anymore!

Sorry machang, Doesn't apply to OSs :)

USB is a specification yes. but the speed is affected by how it is implemented in the OS. :)
so my friend... the speeds vary upon the euqipment and the OS that u use. cause we humans never implement a specification as it is. never!!! hehe :)

for most of the people ubuntu works out of the box
Yeh its with Ubuntu dapper + kde , with my pendrive :) Ubuntu just Get freezed up to reboot when unmounting the pendrive and later found that its a wellknown bug which has to be solved by reinstalling the new version of KDE. I had to reinstall KDE just to get my pendrive worked.

That is exactly what i mean ! For "most of ppl" (out of very low share of OS usage for ubuntu) ubuntu works :).

but see xp, Its for ALL ! Kids, Casuals, Developers, Artists etc etc.

even if u want to upgrade from one version of it to a another... its bloody easy in ubuntu.

That has to be buddy ! bcos they release in 6 months :) he he

i don't understand how u c that as an problem???

Problem is not that the existence of HUGE help/ Howts/Faq/and Forums and materials for ubuntu. Problem is the CAUSE for the existence:)
