What about Srilankan Studies??

Hey guy

I Just wana talk about studies in srilanka some question that arives for me and some of friends. we had discused about this our college days i wana to know what you all guys think...

k my question are.

1)Whther all of our inteligent students got into UNV?
2)Is our pass take us to univercity?
3)How many student taking A/L ? (200,000) how many students had been taken to UNV? (17000) so wat about the balance are they not eligible? some are going to Tec college and some other so balace aroun 150 000 students doing nothing........
4)There lot districs ok from the quto system, some people missing UNV to wats the anser for that? example like from Nuwara district only 10 or 12 people alowed for UNV then the rest?? and some time, the student who got less than another district might get into UNV and here the student who scored well than that studenty at home so wat the point of SL studies?
5)One of the main mistake in A/L exams system, we must have praticle exams too...... failing which only gives the fate of a student who muged up get into the univercity and who are more talented with the practicles are standing wit empty hands. who can give the solution for this???


But our sylabus is very well and also itgives us more knowledge with this syalabus our srilankan students are going to forign countries and shining well. if we have some changes in our system of take up to UNV, all these students wont fly from our country. most of them will be in srilanka and surve for the mother country.

This just a bunch doubts from me and my friends and not any discouragements or blaming. so our elakiri will make some ansers for these questions.....

SL Syllabus is damn good, but da problem is in Lanka v don't have enough Uni's. Dats da prob.. so dats y gov cutting da entries of Uni students.

Coz den all da uni's will b pack...
Here in Aus, all Aussie Dumb asses not studyin, lots of students from other countries, n still dey can manage lots of people in their Uni's.

So dats da main problem v have in Lanka..
Nyway wats da faculty dat u wanna go?
N dats also depend of ya job, coz how many people in lanka have degrees n not having a job.

N how many people doin a great jobs wit a great salary witout goin to da Uni?
Coz they r doin private dip's n degees, like NCC, CIMA, etc;

So dats a really bad situation @ da moment v r having in lanka...
Even after all dis can u get a great job n can u do da best for lanka???

Yep........It's said that the best out of best manage to enter local uni's....

Not all degrees have the same recognition in SL....Some are better over the other.....
For an instance all are aware the place Moratuwa Engineering Grads have.......
When it comes to Management related studies it's Japura..............

Its unfortunate that large scores of sri lankan students don't get the opportunity to study at local uni's, but some rich dudes manage to go abroad or some private un's.....It also should be remembered that not all foreign unis are good.......There are some really crappy uni's as well........

Most of the others students select professional Qualifications such as CIMA, CIM, ICA etc etc.......

Some others get both Academic and professional qualifications at the same time......This has immense value.....

On getting Jobs.......The degree or qualification does not totally influence this.....You have to improve your soft skills as well as the technical skills to stand a better chance.............
This is where most of the local grads fail..........But this is not always true.....As i have seen many grads from Local unis doing really good, mainly because they have developed their soft skills.......

Do not get discouraged..........Do your best....
