    @ greenthunder & Zeus

Count me in for the fan club. I first saw Stargate on Swarnawahini. I think they broadcasted season 1 can't remember for sure. This is my 2nd all time favourite X-files being the 1st. Although it was disappointing to see Richard Dean Anderson leave the show after the 8th season, the show never disappointed me because they brought in the main characters from the hit series Farscape which is also one of my favourite into Stargate (Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell and Vala Mal Doran). :)

On second thought I shouls say that excluding O'neil from the team and ultimately removing him from regular episodes was a mistake.Though Mitchell and Landry filled the void it was never the same.

There wont be.They scraped both SGA & SG1 movies.Franchise is officially over.:(

The news of the end of the franchise was announced by creator Brad Wright at the Vancouver Stargate Con on April 17, 2011. Script co-writer Joe Mallozzi said,

"For what it's worth, it involved a return mission to Pegasus, the tragic end of one relationship, the beginning of another, and a surprising progression in the alliance between one man and one wraith."

    I liked Tod:(

Besides Oneill I liked Hammod and yes the tod also.

Loved the way they handled this so called relationship between this wrath and Shepherd. I find absolutely no occasion that Tod can be blamed for his actions.

Just like the thing they had between "Adler" and Sherlock in new BBC SH series. Those elegant elements are so rare these days :S

Tod always kept his word. The chemistry between Tod and Shepherd grew with the show.It was wonderful to see that they weren't much different from each other as the series went on.They both simply wanted to survive and save their kind.

"Henry Spivey, an efficiency expert, lives a typical suburban life, right down to the wife, two kids, dog, and minivan. In contrast, Edward Albright is a lethal, multilingual operative. It would seem the two men have nothing in common -- except for the fact that they inhabit the same body. When each personality finds himself out of his element, things go awry."................. Farscape which is also one of my favourite into Stargate (Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell and Vala Mal Doran). :)

I never watched Farscape because they ended it with a major cliffhanger. At the time i was looking to watch this show i missed the fact that there was a two part mini series to give some closure to fans.Considering the lack of good TV these days, i think I am gonna watch this one. Thanks for doping the name mate!:)

Dont mind me. Just thinking out loud here.

    In Stargate SG01
Its today I came to notice that DHD is not solely made for dialing symbols.

Over the time, the placement of the planets get change along with the stargates placed on each, due to the expand or shrinking of the universe. Its called Stellar Drift effect (search on wiki if someone looking at this gibbirish of mine :P )

In that case old symbol address doest not lead to the same planet anymore. DHD is designed to compensate this phenomena. So whoever has a DHD can dial the old symbol sequence and still end up making a wormhole to the same planet regardless.

However this stellar drift has slim to no, effect if the length between origin and the destination is less than 300 light years. Old symbol sequence would still work. Thats why initially SGC could dial to abydos even without a DHD.

In order to perform DHD's task manually which is to transform the old address to the new one, it still requires the old symbol as the starting point.

Ex:- say y=2x+3, You need to feed x=2 in order to obtain the 7 as the answer.

So the addresses they obtained from abydos helped to find many other planet that equipped with stargates :)

    Thank you :P

Yeah, after Carter learned how to calculate stellar drift using a super computer.

Yeah, after Carter learned how to calculate stellar drift using a super computer.

Just finished watching the episode that Teal get trapped inside a stargate.

Destination Stargate is waiting until origin stargate properly terminate the wormhole. If it severed prematurely, the destination Stargate holds the data it receives prior to the disturbance, in its buffer. Its a safety mechanism which should be handled by a DHD. Ancient were surely prescient of many worst case scenarios.

And DHD receive over 400 signals when a incoming or outgoing wormhole established. Caters interface take only 180 of them into account.

Watching stargate is like taking a science class in a much cooler way :)
