Tauris primitive behaviour was not the case when they created a Replicate Samantha Carter. They had even samantha's thinking pattern at their disposal and still Tauri defeated them :D
Anyway your point does not cover how tauri defeated wraith. The one race that defeated Ancients. The stargate builders.

You know I kinda agree with Trust. What exactly have SG guys achieved in return ? Promethious and F302 anything else significant ? I dont think so.
And surely we cannot go after Asgards or Tokra all the time to save our asses :)

I was talking on a broader view, not just a single fight.
Tauri never defeated wraith , they just blocked a single attack. They did it by how? being brave enough to use Atlantis Wormhole Drive. A technology that ancients weren't brave or dumb enough to use. Shepperd willing to give his life? etc...

Sure we cant go after those aliens to help us every time we poke our nose where it shouldn't belong but we have no other choice sometimes do we...

The bottom line is we are not ready for such advance technology. And if are going to get any of those fancy gadgets we should get them by ourselves. Not by scavenging like Goauld and end up just like them.

I just wish they had much reasonable point on 100 of times that Tauri in the verge of acquiring such technology and failed at the end of the day :)

Let me take an example from Da Vinci Code.
That Langdon set up a meeting with that Old cripple man in a place that each and every passenger checked for weapons upon entering. But that cripple man manage to hide a gun know how ?

When the metal ditectors goes off that old man shows his cripple aids made form metal and guard does not suspect a thing beside those. But he was keeping a gun with him as well :)

Now thats is some reasoning :)

Acquiring all those techs would have made Tauri more powerful than Goauld or wraith. Then the whole dynamic of franchise would have to change not to mention the increased budget issue.

Thats when the good writers come up with a creative solution addressing all the above issues :D

Kinda getting the feeling that Ori's are not so bad after all
Some prostration and they offer almost everything they got for their followers.
Completely free of torture & enslavement.

Enlightment upon dying, cloaking technology(sodan warriors), gate technology and list goes on for just prostration
Not a bad deal at all

Don't be so sure, Evil always has a smarter plan.

    Spoiler Alert!

Culture/Philosophy of Ori started with pure intention of sharing knowledge of universe with inferior beings. But eventually they became corrupt because of the power they gained from their followers. Since then, they do not offer the knowledge of ascension to their followers, they do not allow scientific advancement , they don't want anybody in their galaxy to question the power of Ori and they do not allow evolution. In other words humans are just a breed for their well being. So apart from the all powerful part, they are no different than Goauld or Wraith.

I just started on Ori part, Green. And my memory of previous watches are so bad(May be thats the reason I can enjoy them over n over again as new)

I still couldn't see that Ori refuse to grant ascension to their followers after the death. However they already given them some cool stuffs and technologies like cloaking. Sodan warriors can even build them by referring the instruction given by Ancients(I think its Ori )
    Anyway lets see it :D

Guess I'm going to re-watch. I still have hope that they would bring back SGA back even though they officially canned the franchise.

I wanted to know what happen to our beloved tod in Atlantis City. I will not see him starved to death. There are plenty of morons to feed him:frown:

TV series stretch for 5 seasons ne ? Is there a book or anything for 6th season ?

Not season 6 per se, it picks up the story from where tv series left. In fact there is a series of books and some are yet to be published. I dont have much time to read this since I am reading GOT at the moment. However I read a few chapters and it was quite interesting.
    In those few chapters;

    Spoiler alert!

Tod gets in to stasis and Atlantians are having problems with IOA regarding returning of Atlantis to Pegasus.
