'Dexter' Ending After Season 8: Executive Producer Sara Colleton Confirms It's 'Definite'
"Dexter" is "definitely" ending after Season 8, executive producer Sara Colleton confirmed in an interview with TV Guide.
When Showtime's serial killer thriller was renewed for two more seasons mid-way through Season 6, it was widely assumed that episode order would be its closing run. But Showtime president David Nevins left his options open, telling Deadline.com at the time of the renewal, “I’m not going to say with absolute certainty that this is the end, but that is the likely scenario, that the series is moving towards a definite end.”
Now, Colleton has moved the end-game a step closer. "This was definite," she clarified. "We wanted to end it this year, but the network convinced us that it would be best to do it in two years. In some ways, this is a two-season series-ender. We have worked that out and know where it's going to end. Next year will definitely be the last year of 'Dexter.' Absolutely."

Many questions left unanswered, yes. But that didn't make the show unsatisfying.Trust me when I say I still burn for the answers, I too want to know the purpose behind goddamn donkey wheel, purpose of the numbers, Egyptians.... But imho lost was more about people (us) and balance of the good and evil and finally the unending cycle of battle between good and evil.
Even though losties in our era passed on to their next life there will come a time where new group of people will come to the shores of the Island. To once again set things in to balance (I think the whole point of showing the crash site of oceanic flight during finale credits was to convey this message)
I didn't say it was full of shit. In fact it is full of suspense and I love the flow and all that. I was really expecting some explanations in season 2 for unexplained things occurred in the previous season, but instead, I ended up getting more questions. Sure all the unexplained mysterious things keeps you on the edge of your seat, but you should throw people a bone every now and then to make it more sensible to watch next time.
They didn't kept us in dark all the time. They shed light to some mysteries. And they provided enough insight for viewers to speculate on answers. In the end most of the mysterious happening made sense and combined, they created a respectable explanation to the overall story.Honestly, can you expect them to explain all the teeny tiny questions in one season. As I said before viewers should focus more on characters rather than mysterious things.
BTW I would hail Lost anytime over The River.
And BTW Lost and The River are in two different leagues, since The River is found footage and Lost is not. So you cant compare them. I personally prefer found footage stuff than others anyway.Well I guess lets just agree to disagree. And BTW Lost and The River are in two different leagues, since The River is found footage and Lost is not. "Lost vs The River" is nothing but a bunch of fanboys battling in the internet trying to argue which is better than whichI doubt that. "Lost vs The River" was a much discussed topic when The River premiered. Many hoped it to be the next Lost. Filming genre could be diferent but there are much similarities between these two shows. I tend to focus on characters most of the time while you ...hmm I don't know. I think thats what caused the difference of opinion between us.
But the point is, I think you have mistaken me here pal. The characters it self is not enough to make a good movie, but also the plot, the angles, cinematic FX, background music and every tiny little detail is important. In some occasions in Lost the plot doesn't play it's role well. And you have question me my focus,
well my focus is not people or camera angles or any other partial aspect, but since its a ScFi I needed it to be convincing plot. I needed it to say "oh that's why Locke couldn't talk when the hatch exploded, ahhh that's why smoke monster didn't kill Mr.Eko the fist time they met. Oh that's how Jacks' dad appeared in LA hospital" instead I said "What the hell is frozen wheel? Why does Miles decided to stay in the island? What's with the Kate and the horse? Why did the other want Walt so badly? How the hell Walt knows about the hatch? etc etc...". And that's where the Lost ...well got lost at times, though I wouldn't call it a total disaster.I think you have mistaken me here pal. In response to your edit - Fans or not I wasn't battling. I was merely making conversation.Too bad you felt that way."Lost vs The River" is nothing but a bunch of fanboys battling in the internet trying to argue which is better than which
