EK is the largest Sri Lankan online community. Both people live in Sri Lanka and other countries come to EK daily. But now the situation of EK is damn suX.

    Why ?

    - EK loads too slow.
    - lot of spam threads
    - EK still uses the old vBulleting version
    - less moderators

My idea is EK should not be like this.

    In my own heart
I really don't need to buy EK, but that is the only way I can pay for EK. Once I said GTRZ to introduce a paid membership like in other forums. But that didn't work.

Paid membership won't be a good idea!! Although it would reduce spam. most of the members who are useful to the community would find it difficult! Including me :P

its very slow for me, even though I use high speed internet.
probably cause you're in russia and the EK servers are in USA. What I've seen from experience is that russian networks are slow when accessing from other countries.

no, it is just an option, who likes to contribute this community. If someone likes, he/she can pay about 200Rs per (price should be fixed) year and get a premium member badge. Others can use the community for free.

its possible that EK has traffic shaping and giving more bandwidth to SL users. This can make it slow for others.

but with good resources, EK can give bandwidth to all. and EK need more moderators. All popular forums have many mods to keep the forum clean. But EK hasn't. Before 1 year, EK was not this much slow.

The resources is what needs more money. So back to the original problem.
too many internal politics at work here. Not easy to openly appoint moderators.
