I know about Kehemadasa's music. I love is music.. specially piriniwan mangalya! & dadubasnamanya soundtrack awesome. true I haven't studied abot sri lanka music in detail. but have gone throug some legends like clarence-His melodies are meomrable but music is not GREAT.. but i love his songs. I tried listen to Amaradeva's song some beautiful. but most of the time music is not beautiful..but there is reson& meaning for the music like kasun's music. I like amrasiri peries very much specially ladune... brilliant, awesome..Ran bada seniwarthne's lyrics....so......i'don't know what to say ..ya .. supereb. But what i'am telling is nobody in the music scence is using their voice like kasun.i did't say Kasun is the greatest vocalist or Musican... BUT HE WILL BE .... Machang he is still ...27...beela marun nathang uoooooo ...sri lanka's best MUSICAN & VOCALIST wenawami...... but sill not...but he will be....he will go further than Pandith Amradeva & Mastero Kemadhasa....

P.S Ah! Machang Rmbr i said i listen to Relaxation music,Yanni,enya Knny g.Kitora....Alt.Heavy,Hard,Emo rock, so that could be the reason that admire kasun kalhara to this extend.Cuz Kasun's music is a combination of them.

People who think like that are becoming an extinct species. Amardeva has the best voice an Asian male ever had. Even Greats of India has told this repeatedly. No one scored above him in Bhathkande university for vocals up to now in 50 years.


You have never studied SL music in detail. Kasun Kalhara represents the tip of the ice berg. Amaradeva, Sunil Shantha, Ananda Samarakoon etc. are at the heavy bottom of the ice-berg



No one will match Khemadasa with music, only AR Rahman will match him, he is just a genius. Please listen to his work and then comment. Looks like you have never listened to his full repatoire. And Amarasiri Peiris is SLs best vocalist because he sings with Khemadasa and able to handle that variety from "Sarala geetha" to Operas on Cantatas.

100% agree with you machan.........And you forgot one man...H.R. Jothipala.....Even amaradewa cant match him...when ravishanker came to sri lanka to classify the singers in SLBC, Jothipala is the one he selected as no 1.

Agree with you ,he won't survive. but for 27 he is over talent. before die he'll do a good job to the music field.actually he has already done it.he introduced the tecnique
called "vibrato" and "beautiful melodies:and simple music

Let's give the chance to the time.

The future I see is filled with imitating musicians that may come in various names. I am not seeing a future for classic singers like Kasun Kalhara and Jagath Wickramasinghe in such a world polluted with western "junk music" Its very sad indeed. And see who are the "porawal" in music today. BnS, Iraj, Centigradz . . . .etc... etc .... etc... Kasun is better than all these fellows in light years. But people talk very less about him. The future is grim my dear friends
