Machan ....im telling through experience.....In the Audigy when you set the setting to headphone.......The volume is higher than the normal 2.1 or 5.1 configurations......meaning that it is amplified....

hmm....
that a sound monitor headphone...
so i think you need a separate headphone amp for that..
:)

Generally a headphone amp will bring out a lot more sound stage and detail in your music.
The Audigy pushes most cans ok but not great. An amp is a wonderful addition for gaming and leisure music listening.:)

Dont think Anusha is a audiophile......So an Audigy will be more than enough for him.......

well there are headphones for 800$ lol like the Dolby Surround headphones....and there are some studio headphones that are well over 1000$...(these headphones are expensive cause they are made to last a very long time and made using very expensive material like Titanium, Neodymium magnets, highest grade driver cones, lots of gold for low resistance and so on) if u can afford one thats very nice..but...for the bunch of us who enjoy high quality music i think it would be enough to buy a good set of headphones from a reputed manufacturer ranging from 3000-4000 RS.

anyway if u buy a good set of subwoofers(like the Mx5021) most of them have a built in headphone out and its powered by a pre amp so that should be enough for any headphone...
