Hard to learn so demand is high for programmers
can write viruses directly affect to system.

Many more versions,Java Beans,Java applets
Can not access to lower level cause it's been protected by Java Virtual Machine

have inbuilt GUI Library files

As some one mentioned it's depend on what you need... As an IT undergraduate I also had struggle with the same problem ... But now I choose C#.NET.
I love its WPF development things.As some web sites show ASP.NET with C# also faster than PHP as its uses Compiler since PHP uses Interpreter.
But you want to believe me JAVA is my Favorite Pro.Lang.... That's why I am 'Jdilex'.

And I want to tell you machan 'Don't ask what is the best programming language' from others ...decide it your self.
