What is the best Quad core intel processor to buy?

guyz.. i need your help to find out a good quad core desktop processor. i thought of the Q6600.. but are there any more processors that will be available in SL market and would give a good value/price ratio?

Wait,Um there are Phenoms from AMD.If they are available in LK get a Phenom IIX3 720 and a mobo with some old BIOS and unlock the 4th core.Or get a 940.It will be cheap.

well i bought machine 18th of this month from the barclays, they told me that the q6600 is currently not avaliable in sri lanka. so i bought q8200. it works fine.

yaa for me I had to visit each shop at unity searching for a q6600. finally asked from the stores and found that there were only 2 of them... anyway i got lucky and I'm using a q6600 right now

Last time Unity guys said that Q6600 26000 & AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black edition 21000....
U knw both r same rendering speed & 9950 got Good memory bandwith....So AMD one is really worth...IMO
So dnt buy Q6600.... If u hav Enough money, go for Q9000 series...
Bt in SL Q9000 series CPUs r f*cking expensive....
I knw Core i7 920 is nw 36000 in SL... Bt damn Platform cost....
BTW dnt buy Q6600 harida....!!!!

thanks for the information machan. yes it could be since there are not much products available. ive never seen the i7 products in sl. btw, can you tell me the place? i think its worth trying to build an i7 compared to the Q9000 series. today unity seller told me that the Q950 or somehting like that is 41.000 and thats a lot of money!

Barclays got Q9450 or 9550...Bt they hav their damn old prices...
cuz they bought them before Intel's price drop... so its around 40000\=
Bt Core i7 920 36000 in Unity....(Q9550 + Amazing memory bandwith... )
Shop is in front of the Barclays...They hav a demonstration System & I worked with it... Bt when u go for a i7 u might hav big problems with Motherboard & memory....Cuz they hav a crap Intel DX58 cheap motherboad & Tri-Chennel memory kit....
So wot u gonna do....?
