yes, you are right.

i'm a big fan of FF, loved it, but' chrome took it away

fancy plugins means nothing to me, i don't want other application to interfrear with browser. and i hate FF download manager

Firefox is a good all rounder.
Chrome is still evolving, but does perform really well. Needs addons and 3rd party app support.
IE8's interface is laggy, but page loading times are sometimes better than both Firefox and Chrome on my 512k ADSL
I've given up on Opera because of a Javascript bug is has with ogame.
Safari is a joke
