    Ok, I'm not laughing at the 5th one :rolleyes:

    Anyway, can you do me a favour? If you have burned any Sony discs, can you show me a quality scan of one? You can use Nero CD Speed to do that. Since Sony doesn't support the real quality scanning thing, you can use the Transfer test and show us the final graph output.
    i dont use them.I use only afa and imation.I've had only 2 imations too and they were discnapped by someone:angry::angry:
    only got afas.Affordable,value for the money:)
    sorry i cant fulfil ur wish:(:(

    :lol: :lol: for that last part.

    Availability = yeah, high
    Reputed name from other products = Yeah
    Low price? Nope. I mean, even theoretically it's not possible. Sony don't make DVDRW drives. They hire others to make it for them. Here, others means other companies who sell their own burners. So the Sony drives can't be cheaper than the OEM's drives, neigher same price.

    Yeah that white bezel is pretty. Too bad, I can't use it either, 'cos my case it black.

    Oh! then you are wrong! SONY does make DVD - RW (18X) and I'm using one of them!!!:yes: :yes: :yes:

    Believe me when I say Sony doesn't make DVDRWs. It looks like the Sony DRU-830A is a rebadged Benq DW1800.

    Sony DRU-720A = Liteon SOHW-1673S
    Sony DRU-800A = Liteon SOHW-1693S
    Sony DRU-810A = Benq DW1640
    Sony DRU-820A = Benq DW1670 (or 1655 not sure)

    Samsung's SH-S183L is an 18x DVD-writing drive... this one use SATA rather than the parallel data-transfer interface that currently prevails. The industry shift to SATA optical drives mean more SATA connections will be required on PC motherboards.
