guys,

im writing this post after a pretty long time...dat doesnt mean i was not visiting elakiri...i was visiting elakiri more dan 10 times a day.. but i didnt c any intresting topics for me to reply..even if there were few some ppl hd told wut i need to say..so didnt wanna repeat it and b a some sort of a spammer..

okie back to the topic....

I recently took a new tattoo. and i am planning on expanding it... so when i told abut this to some ppl in SL they didnt respond well and i was curious abut it.. so i asked them y..

most of them said was u will b a GANGSTER, RUSTA...

then i asked how i gonna b a gangster or a rusta??

their reply was that ONLY GANGSTERS DO TATTOOS..

so guys im bit confused here...

u do a tattoo means do u become a rusta???
or is that our sri lankan narrow minded mentality??
or not knowing abut da tattoo culture???
or JEALOUSY??

I think reason is all this.... wut u guys think????

by the way ppl i talked abut this is not uneducated ppl...they all are well educated and considered smart and cool by our society..(kinda)hehehe

so guys wut u guys think????

im not sri lankan but i might as well be, well, to me, tattoos are expressing urself thru body art. it dont mean ur a gangster unless u go putting gangster symbols all over ur body... im a 23 year old white girl... i got six tattoos and i want more, and i am by no means a gangster. i guess its really narrow mindedness really. if they experienced more cultures and more places in the world, im sure their minds would change. then too it could very well be jealousy, maybe deep inside, they really want to get a tattoo, but maybe their parents wouldnt approve (u know how some people dont want to go against their parents)... maybe they are jealous that ur gonna have this big beautiful peice of art,for life, and they dont have even a small one.

i want to have a tattoo, but i don't want to disappoint my mother, father or anyone i love who don't want to have a tattoo on me.

i think others have the same story as mine.

as some ppl said yes it depends on wut kind of a tattoo u do and weather it matches u or not..

and tattooing is addictive.when u take 1 u always wanna take another1...hehe
i think dats kinda cool as long as u kno da limit...

tatoos have meanings .depends wat u get ..
im srilankan by birth n hav a tat..n i aint no gangsta so as jess says it is narrow mindedness to genaralize like dat .

I used to think the same line when I was young (About Ear piercing), but now I'm on my own,I have my tattoos & piercings where I want them to be.......
Your parents will settledown eventually

About the topic............things change, people change, attitudes change........over time, Tats used to be the tough guys art to show how macho you are, in here(Aus) tattoo parlours used to be (& still is) frequented by Bikies & Truckies, but now you can see people from all walks of life getting tattoos......it's cool, no one has a problem

Personally, I like small, thought provocative ones, it's bit too much when you have it all over the body like that 9/11 tattoo shown above (In my eye)

dammmmmmmmmmmmnnnn that is hot!!! i think i just got an idea for the tattoo i wanted to get covered!!!!! thats hot! and i like piercings too, but not like 20 piercings all over the face ya know that kinda thing, small, things i like.

i agree with u on that 9/11 tatt being way too much, but if u look at it, hes got names on his back, which prolly his family or friends of his .... he may have been a firefighter or something that day and lost his friends... in that case if i was in that situation then i would probably do something like that too. i just watching the news footage from that day and u know u kinda forget about it, people who didint know anyone, but watching this footage all over again is so shocking and will bring tears to ur eyes! maybe he got that so that he would never ever forget, cuz everytime he looks in the mirror, i bet it seems just like yesterday to him, especially if he was there

its so sad...... my aunt got a small tatt of the towers after 9/11, she a bigger fan of tatts than me!!
