what's the best printer to buy for basic use

pls help me to buy a printer for my office use.

pls provide me the brand and model pls

also whether spare parts are available anytime,anywhere

i'm really having very bad experience with printers.

pls help me urgently as i need to get a printer soon for my office work.

i've been refilling it with cheap Hero fountain pen ink for years

refilling quality also not bad..

make sure you buy one with a separate cartridge for black ink..

and don't buy Epson if you intend to refill cuz you need to reset a chip inside the cartridge every time you refill.

i bought a hp printer D1560 on the 2009.09.18 and the printer was not functioning on the 2010.10.12.

the warranty is expired cos it was one year. so i gave it for repair to the hp agent (trident corporation)

after inspecting the printer,they said that the printer has to be repaired cos there's something wrong with the board.

after taking one week,they said they can't do the repair as the spare parts are no longer available for that printer model.

i asked them DO U EXPECT ME TO BUY PRINTERS ANNUALLY FROM YOU??

they said now hp keeps on adding a new series every year and they stop producing spare parts for the earlier series.

that's the replay i got from them.

so now i have to buy a new printer.

before buying i needed the help from you guys to help me choose a good printer which will at least last 3yrs

Try this.. this is what I have.. it's really cheap.. approx abt 3000 bucks n does a pretty gud job.. does well in colour too n the printing is quite fast too !!

well, i had my board busted once, but luckily i was able to get it fixed all by myself. (it was a dead diode)

rule of thumb is never to give electronics stuff to repair personnel. try fixing it urself or forget about it altogether..

hp i found very easy to refill with cheap Hero ink

I use a bit old cannon s200 mainly for B/W printing.few drops of water and black ink always get it running.

yeah.. when it get's clogged up use H2O2 (hydrogen-peroxide) to clean the print head..and when the ink is not flowing into the head, injecting a lil bit of surgical spirit into it usually gets it going
