Ha..ha.. yeah! I thought so! I think this Maxtor is 5600RPM one! Really very old!

It will be the 5200 RPM and the first designs which gained from Quantum.Switch didnt went will with this type.Had problems of Overheating.The main cause to die.The controller IC will go upto 68C If you measure it with a thermo.(I've done it with 30 ambient).Platters locking is another prob.Rare if platters misplace them .Good for travel coz slim,will fit in Denims too,rare platter damage coz of moving.

Well at least get that Biostar mobo which features VIA PT900M with PCI-E X 16 + DDR2 + SATA so you can have mobo+1G RAM + 160GB HDD for 15.5k like.I'm sure you r mPGA 478b dont you?
If you have even DDR1 and 775 you could have gone for the Biostar for 6.5k

A 250GB IDE Hitachi 7200RPM/8M cache will be 9k.I dont talk behind that.C'mon its the time of 1.5TB HDDs and we gonna talk less than 250GBs?What are we?OK lets say 160.But not lower than that.Man I could cut my left leg and beat myself with it to death for having a 120GB in these days With such things to store.

Try to save and earn.The PC which I'm typing to you have only the monitor from parents.Right now it lacks a casing and a DVD RW.But they were spent on my new rig.I'll hit one of the best with ma new rig.

Well...IDE's are more expensive than SATA now! I can easily add a bit more and opt for a 400GB! besides there are lot of buyers here for those old stuff!!
