    I am using windows windows 7 32 bit,firefox 3.6 chrome 5.362 beta 2,IE 8 ,and safari latest.
    Ram 4 GB ,Core 2 duo 7300.

Best browser for me is Chrome and its faster and easy.
IE 8 is some what slow and i ve noticed it.

I recently encountered FB chat window script error and IE 8 can manage it well.Firefox simply hang. And Chrome also can manage it.

Other than that i say IE 8 is somewhat error free but slow.
chrome and firefox is fast and occasionally crash. But not often.

But best features u can get from firefox using so many add ons.

When flash content is loaded some times chrome gets crashed
while I browse through flash websites I experienced two crashes
firefox in safemode works fine but when it comes to add-ons then it crashes a lot

    Crashes
    1.Fire Fox 3.6
    2.Google chrome 4.1

Try Opera browser machan. And you really need to upgrade your ram atleast to 2GB. If you can upgrade your machine to atleast Dual Core or Core2Duo.

Todays flash apps and Silver light plugins etc.. need more RAM and processing power. Remember HTML 5 will get so common in the near future.
Anyway still Flash has lot of bugs, Steve jobs says they not accepting flash in iphone or ipads coz of the bugs. Its kinda true.

But in reality steve jobs knows if he accept Flash, millions of those existing flash apps will work in Iphones and ipads so he has no luck with proprietary App Store.
