Tho this is an American Europian movie it felt was more "europic" and boring too :S

And theres a controversial dialog in 32nd minute regarding Sri Lanka which related to a refugee from Sri Lanka.

Don't know about the rest, but this and 2001 a space odyssey, I consider to be greatest sci fi ever. (not counting Tarkowsky's Stalker or Solaris which are on a completely different level)
should see this again sometime, this is one of those movies that I think of while trying to sleep at nights
