I havent seen DKR yet. (No one in SL for sure) BUt I have this feeling that DKR would not beat DK. From the looks of it Joker is the best villain you ever get to see in any freaking comics.
Bane and Joker cannot be compared. Bane works almost exactly like Batman. He's methodical, always has a plan and has the same level of intellect as Batman. He's the only villain to deduce that Batman is Bruce Wayne.
No idea what Nolan has done to Bane in the movie though.

Yeah though there is no point of speculating before the movie I cant resist my curiosity.

I have even no idea of bane. But Joker alone had damn good philosophy for himself. That everyone is born villain. But we sugarcoat our true nature to be good.

"Madness is like gravity... All you need is little push"

I wonder bane have that part in him

Bane is not a psychopath like the Joker so its completely different with him. Bane is the only villain that has got the better of the Bat (or has a win over the Bat).
In the latter encounters Batman tends to either avoid or reason with him rather than fight him as the first encounter didnt go so well for the Bat.

Thats him throwing the broken Bat on to the streets of Gotham. He broke Wayne's spine.

I like Joker too, but since I haven't watched it yet it's unfair to judge now. Plus I like Catwoman, and it was played by Anne (whom I adore) think I might enjoy it better.

As I picked up from here and there, the character of Bane scattered with methods physical strength etc.
But the character of joker is much more inclined and focused with the philosophy(I think)

    Alfred :
"Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

Joker : "This town deserves a better class of criminal. And I'm gonna give it to them."

How can someone just not fall in love with that guy :D

Joker and philosophy doesnt fit in the same sentence. He's a complete psychopath and a chaotic. Total opposite to Batman.

Something I've noticed in batman stories, whenever they use the Joker, EVERYONE brings their A game. The writers, artists, inkers, everyone. So inevitably, Joker gets the best lines, best plots, the works. This is why he's so beloved. To the point of fans wanting the Joker to kill off Robin #2 (A Death in Family story arc, Under the Red Hood movie).

    .......

Most of the controversial philosophers are often pegged as psychopaths. On other angle , He is a psychopath so he had seen the world differently which is my point of view, is more accurate.

Think for a while if someone preach "Your cast depends on how you behave" in the era that cast discrimination at its best. Wouldn't he be on the same boat of psychopath in the eyes of the society ?

PS:- Bringing the best lines and plots is the way of replenishing his lack of physical fitness and weirdness. Which in Bane's case , I suspect , no need of.
See ? Dr House is a limp in the same manner and his mouth is still big.

Jumping Jesus on a Pogo stick!
No!! Bigotry doesnt mean they are phsychopaths as well.
psychopaths doesnt see the world differently, they just dont have any care or conscience on how they act on ALL of society. Basically, they consider everyone and everything exists for their amusement.
Dunno much about philosophers but I doubt any are considered to be psychopaths. Probably considered as lunatics or eccentric but hardly psychopaths.

Joker is physically fit. He's got extrmely fast reaction times.Batman is often caught off guard with his punches. Weirdness is already there in terms of look, his white skin and green hair are not makeup.
Bane uses his brains the most. Uses his fists when he needs to, either to show that he's superior or as self defence.

Theres some point. Even Joker himself says.
"Im a dog chasing cars. I wouldnt know what to do if I caught one. I just do things"

Yet. Can you tell his vision of human kind is wrong ?

So the question is does bane has this kind of vision ? A theory ? If the answer is no. Then there it is. Joker is my best.
If the answer is Yes. Let me have a look on him on 10th August though its too long to wait

Bane definitely has a vision. He wants to be the unquestionable boss of Gotham. Towards that end he makes long term plans.
Again, this is Bane as introduced in the comics. What Nolan has done to the character remains to be seen.

However all the cars that had been chased by Joker is to prove people's born evil nature. So in that case he is not just a psychopath.
So we may compare him and Bane.
Anyway as you said this is discussion to have after the 10th of August
