he only faked it. Because Tyler was part of himself Narrator tricked Tyler into believing that he was going to shoot himself, and kill Tyler.
But he only shoots through his cheek so he didnt die. Tyler thought he had just gotten his head blown off, and "died".

duh..to kill of tyler see the movie a few more times, the idea it wants to give is not the one you usually get at the first time.

tyler is a big hypocrite and a liar.

when in the last scene when that guy comes out and we hear the bells of heaven ringing, I got goose bumps all over for like a minute that girl seriously deserve her place in his good grace..
