Why are non-Muslims not allowed in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah?

Makkah is the most sacred place for Muslims right? If it is not allowed why you allow? Why Islam in Makkah is different from Islam in Sri Lanka?

Ai ethakota Makka Islam wala oya kiyana Islamic peace and unity nadda, Islam ayata witharak yanna denne?

Anika.... Buddhists most sacred places like "Dalada Maligawa" and places in India (and places all over the world for that matter) can be visited without any problem for you guys!

Biggest joke of the year. Restricted areas are restricted to all the people regardless of their nationality. Only resource people can enter them. Yes, we would not expect any one (even any normal Muslim) to be allowed to enter the most private rooms of clergy in Mecca, but not allowing to enter a pilgrim place is a joke. And shows the intolerance of Muslim towerds other religions.
