    We already have cricket so a strong cultural lassitude towards any other game is only natural.

    Football demands constant expulsion of physical energy on the field. Most Sri Lankans aren’t brought up on a high protein diet. And we aren’t known for prolonged stamina either. Incidentally this is partly why most local footballers happen to be Muslims.
