Wrong, SL has a very good tele drama culture and India can't even think about getting there even with their massive cinema capabilities. Kadulla, Kadawara, Weda Hamine, Dandubasnamanaya, Theertha Yaathrikaya, Bogala Saundiris, Esala Kaluwara are few examples for it. Indians are too un-educated to grasp the themes of tele dramas like these. They opt for cheap themes as we see in"gon-depaya". Now there is a new tele, a very good one, by Jayantha Chandrasiri, "Sathara denek senpathiyo". It is on Saturdays at 8.30.madurax86 said:yea sure, sri lanka's tele dramas r bullshit dats y sum ppl watch things that r made in other countries...this applies to evertything which r made in sri lanka for ex,
We don't watch good SL films. Have you watched "Uppalawanna" or "Nisala gira". These have very deep themes, reminiscent of Bengali cinema. Hindi themes are too monotonus and only emotional. Nothing to talk to the intellegence. So if you want to see very good themes, watch Bengali films. Ex. "Pather Panchaali" by Sathyajith Raimadurax86 said:sri lankan movies r shit n ppl watch more n more english n hindi movies!
Once again wrong. Music of Hindi songs are based on Pakistani music and Gazzle music. Tamil films have their own Karnatic and Kannada music. What we hear from FMs are blatant copies of copies. There are a lot of songs that are novelly created here. The "Kunu" FM culture do not support them. Insted they support guys who lack creativity.madurax86 said:most of the songs made in sri lanka r straight ####! so ppl tend to listen to english or hindi songs.
Totally agreed.madurax86 said:u see, SL was a better place in da early days like in 60s n 70s but now its worse,
True machan. But still there are good things created by us. Micro is better than Maruti (if you have driven both, you know what I am talking about). That explains difference of quality between India and Sri Lanka.madurax86 said:nyway still there are ppl who know whts the right thing to do, for example take rajatha rashmi on rupavahini [i mean it rox] i'm not sayin dat rupavahini is better dan other TV stations wht im sayin is dat rajatha rashmi is far more better than sirasa supa star!. evry one knows dat sirasa supa star is a shit ball nyway.. v must be glad coz we r not a part of dat commercialized addy shit.

So its no surprise they don't have trust in the Sri Lanka's tele culture, I think they were not @ the right age to enjoy those earlier masterpieces!!!
"Dandubasnamanaya" was one of my fav. also I remember "Charitha thunak", "Giraya" my all time fav. apart some tele you mentioned above!
I think very soon a situation will occur, these cheap Indian dramas will drag our viewers to their level and there will be no market for those kind of great tele we had and eventually the art will die!!
