WTF this is bullshit how can a Athlon X2 can be almost fast as a core 2, this Benchmark is flawed.

Actually you can't see the advantage of AMD is from WPrime.. AMD X2 kicking Intel Core2 ass on Memory Read, Write, Copy & Latency.. since AMD processors use inbuilt memory controller.

IMC is a good thing, but sadly it doesn't give Athlon X2 any performance advantage over core 2 because core 2 architechture is simply much faster than K8, K8 is about 40% slower than Core 2 so IMC dont help at all, but AMD has fixed all of the issues with Phenom II and it will shed some light on AMD.

That's a *synthetic* benchmark. People don't do memory copying/writing for a living.
It is just a small part of the whole process. See, if AMD is beating Intel in one department, it means Intel beats AMD by a long margin on other departments, to get such a huge lead.

your right when AMD released it's first Dual Core CPU X2 on AM2.. Intel released Intel Dual Core CPU (not Core2Duo) which didn't beat AMD X2.. But later Intel did changed their Dual Core architecture and released the new CPU under name Core2Duo . So when u comparing to Core2Duo you are right... But when you matching performance you can almost buy 2 AMD CPUs cost of a same performance on Intel CPU..

What u said really apply on AMD Phenom X3 & X4 (AM2+) CPU's vs Intel Q series... Because AMD didn't really change much on AM2+ CPUs

Actually Phenom II is not made to fight with Nehalem, it is Definitely a bit slower than Nehalem Clock to Clock, But Phenom II will simply Digest all the Core 2 line of Processors, and it will be the sane upgrade path for the current AM2+ owners plus Us who has core 2 based rigs only will need to get a Mobo and the Processor RAM and Coolers will fit just fine on the AMD setup, unlike i7 where u have to buy everything from scratch

This is not possible... I think the guy who did that test didn't do it properly... look CPU-Z shows his core speed is 1999.8Mhz. E7200 suppose to be 2.53Ghz stock.. Looks like he didn't change his BIOS settings..
Look at the first page Anusha got E7200 running @ 3.8Ghz.. and got better results..

Don't be confused/confuse others.

Pentium Dual Core is a Core 2 Duo variant, with lower FSB, lower Cache and VT disabled.

What you are referring to is Pentium D, which is based on Pentium 4's architecture.

I haven't followed much Intel CPU's. When I bought my first Dual core CPU few years back X2 4200+.. There was no Core2Duo in the market.. It was Intel Dual Core CPU(check the Intel logo) Intel's answer.. But it was pretty slow compared to X2s... Later Intel added few things to and released CoreDuo,Core2Duo.. I'm not the one confused here it is u who's thinking old first stage Intel Dual Core CPU's with lower FSB, lower cache etc as another kind of CPU..
What I'm saying is Intel answer to AMD X2 was Pentium D CPU... not Core2Duo
