yes ths s nt a gaming lap, but seems wth these specs we can play most of the new games including NFS Undercover..

Undercover works fine in my lap, my lap is AMD Turion Dual Core,3GB RAM, 512MB shared memory...compaq too...bought it 1 year back..

i like compaq its value for money, and the best thng s its owned by HP and most of the parts are HP parts..

i feel shared is beter, coz when RAM is increased graphic too increase..

but dedicated even if u put 4GB ram, the graphics s the same...

as u asked HD3450, max is 256MB dedicated for Compaq .. idnt thnk ths s enough for new games...

but the bad part is the heating...sometimes while playing it heats up, i thnk new models dnt hv ths prob, anyway thr s cooler, which keeps the lap cool...

anyway i feel the above lap s worth for the price...

Yes you can play some modern games, but you can't expect real gaming graphic pleasure with the IGP. Most new mobile VGA cards support shared ram (except hi end cards). Actually memory size doesn't matter that much when you have poor memory bandwidth.

GTX 280 ( A very good High end gaming graphics card )

You see now ..... The HD 3200 has a Bandwidth of 4 GB/s while the mid range 9600 GT has a Bandwidth of 62.1 GB/s and that High end Gaming Graphics card (GTX 280) has a whopping 141.7 GB/s Bandwidth... Higher the bandwidth more you can Gain :D
