Forget having emotions. Never smile. Be willing to do whatever it takes to protect national security. This includes threatening, torturing, maiming and killing anyone who gets in your way, to include your best friends and your co-workers. If you do want to shed a tear occasionally, such as when you have to chop off your partner's arm to get to a deadly virus, you can hide your red eyes with your sexy aviator sunglasses.

    2
Know every trick in the book when it comes to fighting. Combat, karate, judo and old-fashioned shoot-outs are all part of Jack's repertoire. If you temporarily get caught, know that you can withstand any amount of torture. It's only a matter of time until opportunity knocks, giving you the chance to break free and creatively kill your enemy by biting him in the jugular vein.

    3
Bring a new meaning to the term "dirty jobs." Jack has no problem taking on the impossible, and neither should you. A suicide mission has your name written all over it.

    4

Avoid intimate relationships with women. Your wives and lovers will all be kidnapped, tortured or shot. Or, they'll just get tired of your never-ending and constant devotion to your career. Forget about an eight hour work day. Your typical day is 24 hours, but you do sometimes get a year off in between missions.

    5
Convince your cell phone provider to give you a super phone. Jack Bauer's phone is his lifeline. It can interface with satellites, give awesome directions and disarm bombs. It also has the ability to know when to keep quiet. Jack's phone never rings when he's sneaking up on a bad guy. Your phone will never need re-charging, even when you go into hiding for days.

    6
Equip your car with every weapon known to man. Make sure you toss a bullet proof vest into the back seat. Install a powerful little screen in the front seat, so CTU can send you schematics of buildings you want to destroy. It's a handy gadget to have.

    7
Assure yourself that nothing lasts forever. In Jack Bauer's world, everything gets resolved in 24 hours.
