Toyota prius, seriously is the best hybrid car available below 50 lacks...

But is it really a sustainable car? Well, it does run from few petrol litres, but to be effective it requires highways, where SL doesn't have them. The southern highway only not going to make much difference.

How about their lead batteries, and other high tech stuff (hard to reuse or recycle) in the engine? They pollute the environment if discarded. Lack of knowledge about those will result in low re usability and repair-ability of cars.

A hybrid car requires more energy and materials than what an ordinary car requires to built. Hence carbon foot print and resource usage of the production process is high.

Prius doesn't wants to have highway to get its efficiency. Its works on city better than highway.
