Two South Korean warships ROKS Chunji, a Fast Combat Support Ship and ROKS Kang GamChan, a Korea designed stealth destroyer arrived at the Colombo port today.

The ships carrying 620 crew members of the Republic of Korea Navy Cruise Training Task Group will be in the country for three days.

The group will train midshipmen on practical and systematic onboard education and will be involved in a number of volunteer work.

Training will last for 95 days calling at 10 ports including Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Italy, France, Greece, India, Malaysia and Japan. Port of Colombo is the second port of call.

This is their fifth time to visit Sri Lanka since their first visit in 1977.
