A birth of a Child took place on UL 422 from Colombo (CMB) to Bangkok (BKK) on the 3rd December 2011. On the decent into BKK the crew were checking the cabin for landing when Flight Stewardess Aloka & Anaka noticed a Philippine Passenger in the centre toilet delivering a baby. The crew handled the situation very professionally dealing with the situation in a very calm and collected manner and taking control. The baby was a bit weak as it was a premature birth but survived and was handed over to the medical staff in BKK soon after landing. This is the 4th occasion that a child was successfully delivered on board a SriLankan Airlines aircraft.
