:shocked:AC Milan accepts Paris Saint-Germain's 65 million euro bid for Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva

    189770hp2.jpg

AC Milan has accepted Paris Saint-Germain's 65 million euro offer for Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to Sky Sport Italia.

With an agreement over a transfer fee seemingly struck, the players in question will now have to decide whether or not to make the move to Parc des Princes in the coming days.

The French capital club had a 46 million euro proposal for the Brazilian defender turned down last month as Rossoneri president Silvio Berlusconi rejected the transfer himself at the last minute.

However, fresh reports from the peninsula claim that PSG has not yet given up on landing Thiago Silva and has made its intentions clear with a double bid for the Brazilian and teammate Ibrahimovic.

The move comes just 24 hours after Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admitted that the duo could still be sold before the end of the summer transfer window.

Following a meeting with Galliani at the club's headquarters earlier on Wednesday, agent Mino Raiola has reportedly flown into Sweden to convince the striker into accepting the transfer to France.

Earlier in the summer, Ibrahimovic publicly spoke of his disdain at Milan's financial problems after a season in which the team lost its Serie A crown to Juventus.

His future at San Siro has been a hot topic of debate ever since, with the San Siro giants receptive to the idea of parting company with the former Barcelona striker if a big-money offer arrived.

Suarez confident Falcao wants Atletico Madrid stay

    99805hp2.jpg

Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez is adamant that teammate Radamel Falcao is not leaving the club in the summer.

The Colombia international has been tipped for a new challenge after netting an impressive 36 goals in his debut season at the Vicente Calderon following a €40 million transfer from Porto last summer.

It has been reported that Atleti is ready to listen to offers for Falcao as it looks to balance its books, but Suarez does not envisage the Colombian going anywhere.

"I have said before that Falcao would be here with us, and he currently is," Suarez told reporters at a press conference.

"He really likes being at the club, he has said it many times. Atletico's officials have also said that they want him to stay and that he will not leave, so there is no need to talk about this anymore."

Atletico's first big challenge of the season comes on Aug. 31, when the side locks horns with Champions League winner Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup.

"They are the favorites, they are the ones who won the Champions League, but what we want right now is to prepare ourselves, in order to be at the top for that match," Suarez noted.

"This is a goal of ours and it will be a very important match for us. We are very excited about it and we know that if we play well, we have our chances to win the game."

Romeu: Returning to Barcelona is an option

    156388hp2.jpg

Oriol Romeu has admitted that he could be on his way back to Barcelona again ahead of the 2012-13 campaign after only one season at Chelsea.

The 20-year-old left the Blaugrana for the Champions League winners in the summer of 2011, but the Catalans have an option to re-purchase Romeu for a set fee.

"Returning to Barcelona is an option. Barca have a buy-back option. I left the club knowing about that. If they want to use that option, they should let me know," Romeu was quoted as saying by Sport.

"If Tito [Vilanova] wants me to join, I'll talk to him and I'll consider it. If they show they believe in me, I'd be fine with that.

"I've always been a big fan of the club. Thanks to them I am where I am now, but playing time is crucial."

Barcelona is supposedly keen to add some more depth to its midfield following the departure of Seydou Keita earlier this month, and Romeu could be one of the candidates to fill the void.

Barcelona is angry at RFEF decision, says spokesperson

    182126hp2.jpg

Barcelona spokesperson Toni Freixa has conceded that his side is unhappy with the decision made by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to lift the Supercopa ban imposed on Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho.

The governing body announced on Tuesday that it had decided to revoke the suspensions of both the Portuguese and Barca coach Tito Vilanova ahead of next season's Spanish curtain-raiser.

Freixa has branded the RFEF's decision as unacceptable and subsequently is now demanding changes to how the organization reacts to such controversy in the future.

"We think that an offense like that of Mourinho cannot go unpunished," Freixa told a press conference.

"The Committee's opinion is that it was not a serious offense, but it was a very severe action, one of treachery, that everyone saw. But together with our team, we have decided not to appeal against it.

"We are angry, we do not agree with the federation's decision. We have formally asked the federation for the creation of a working group or a commission to regulate how pardons like these can be handed out.

"We also think the way in which the committee and the disciplinary body are composed must be improved."

Freixa then took a swipe at Madrid director Emilio Butragueno, who stated on Tuesday that Barca had been "protagonists" in a similar case previously.

"It would be convenient when someone talks about something that they know what they are talking about," the Barca official added.

"Barca have never had a pardon for an action like the one that Mourinho performed."

:(Villas-Boas eyes Tottenham bid for Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho

Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that Tottenham is interested in signing Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho.

The 25-year-old, who worked under the new Spurs coach at Porto during their treble-winning 2010-11 season, impressed for Portugal during this summer's Euro 2012.

Villas-Boas has confirmed that his side is in discussions with several clubs over the sale of Luka Modric and admitted the Croatian could leave White Hart Lane for "the right price" this summer.

The Tottenham boss conceded that Moutinho was a target for his side but was adamant that the Porto midfielder was not his only target.

"He [Moutinho] was one of the most important players at Euro 2012, he had a fantastic tournament, and also he's an important player for Porto," said the recently-appointed manager. "Counting on players of this quality will always be interesting for us.

"It doesn't mean that it's the only target, but if something happened of course he's a player we look on with some interest."

Chelsea outbids Tottenham to close in on 20m pounds Oscar

    181936hp2.jpg

Chelsea is closing in on a 20 million pounds move for Brazilian starlet Oscar after blowing Tottenham out of the water with with its financial offer.

The Blues are in advanced negotiations with the midfielder's club, Internacional, after gazumping a 15m pounds bid made by Spurs last week.

Oscar is regarded as one of the hottest talents in South America and has been identified by Chelsea as a star of the future.

"Spurs simply couldn't and wouldn't compete with the numbers Chelsea are talking - in terms of transfer fee and wages," a source close to the deal told Goal.com.

"Spurs really wanted him and thought their partnership with Internacional would help, but Chelsea are getting a star of the future."

The 20-year has admitted to being aware of Tottenham's interest in recent weeks, but insisted that his focus is solely on helping Internacional, with the Porto Alegre side currently sitting in fifth in the Brasileirao.

"Tottenham contacted my agent, but now I'm focusing on Inter," he said. "I don't know what might happen, I'm not thinking of it right now."

"Inter has an important project to win Brasileirao, everybody's focused on that. I want to return to the team and keep playing."

But Chelsea looks to have convinced the playmaker his future lies in London at Stamford Bridge, with Oscar set to join fellow new recruit Eden Hazard in Roberto Di Matteo's squad ahead of the new season.

Friedel: Tottenham will replace Modric if he decides to leave

Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel feels the club will not allow playmaker Luka Modric to leave without having a ready replacement in place.

Spurs finished fourth in last season’s Premier League but narrowly missed out on Champions League football due to Chelsea winning the competition after beating Bayern Munich on penalties.

Friedel has dismissed the notion that Modric’s possible departure will result in Tottenham becoming a selling club and is sure chairman Daniel Levy will dive straight back into the transfer market for a suitable replacement.

"Knowing the way the chairman works, if someone like Luka Modric left the club, then they would have a ready-made replacement." Friedel told talkSPORT. "I can't see with the ambition that the club has that they can let players leave without having a replacement. We're not a selling club - that's for sure."

Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho has been linked as the man to fill the void left by Modric, with new Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas having managed the player during his time in Portugal.

A fee of around 30 million pounds has been mooted, with the Croatian expected to demand the same figure.

Liverpool striker Carroll wanted on loan by West Ham

Newly-promoted West Ham is plotting a move to bring Liverpool striker Andy Carroll to Upton Park on a season-long loan, according to various sources.

The 23-year-old has struggled to make a telling impact since his 35m pounds switch from Newcastle United in January 2011 and new boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly prepared to sanction a temporary switch as he tries to implement his passing game at Anfield and switch from a 4-4-2 approach to a more modern 4-3-3.

The Hammers feel they hold an advantage over speculated interest from AC Milan given the friendship the striker shares with Kevin Nolan while the pair where at the Sports Direct Arena.
However, Carroll’s 80,000 pounds-a-week wages are believed to be a stumbling block for the London side.

Despite Carroll's failures at Anfield so far, an upturn in form near the end of the season - netting in both the FA Cup semifinal and final - saw him claim a spot in Roy Hodgson’s England squad heading to Euro 2012, where he scored against Sweden in the group stages.

Meanwhile, Rodgers is also hoping to tie up a deal for young Italian forward Fabio Borini from Roma, as well as leading the race for Daniel Sturridge’s signature, as exclusively revealed by Goal.com.

Carroll is said to be unsure on a move to Italy, but Liverpool would rather let the striker move abroad where he can not come back to haunt the club in the Premier League.

    AVB: Abramovich quit on me

    AVB: Abramovich quit on me

    andrevillas-boasstandswoe_576x324.jpg

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas says he "will never accept" his sacking from Chelsea, accusing owner Roman Abramovich of breaking his promise last season.

Villas-Boas parted company with the Blues eight months into a three-year contract in March. After being lured from Porto after Chelsea met his release clause of £13.3 million, Villas-Boas claims he felt let down by Abramovich.

"I respect the decision of the owner of Chelsea, but I will never accept it," Villas-Boas said.
"I told him that for me it was him quitting on me when he had been so much involved in the beginning in bringing me in and he was the one also who was not putting up to the things he promised."

"It is all very well that you cut the project short and Chelsea go on to win two trophies and you say how wonderful the squad was, but at the beginning nobody believed in that squad when we put it together."It was a tremendous learning experience which I am grateful in some ways to have gone through it because it makes me a better coach and a better person at this time.

"But the decision to cut it short was not mine and for Chelsea to have won the Champions League and to have won the FA Cup was because we were still in those competitions.

"I had the opportunity to win them cut short and I had cut short the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League when I was just three points off the fourth position, this is what I recall from the day when I was sacked."

Villas-Boas believes he has learned a great deal from his first spell in the Premier League, during which there were some disagreements with senior players over tactics and direction.
"I am not a guy who is able to criticise anyone in public, but I am not a guy who promotes individuals in public," said Villas-Boas.

"I understand now that certain things can be done better and in the end you evolve in different ways. Hopefully I can apply the different things I have learned properly."

    Fletcher yet to begin comeback

    Fletcher yet to begin comeback

    Darren-Fletcher_2690663.jpg

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is yet to attempt a comeback from his chronic bowel complaint.

The Scotland international was forced to take a break from football in December after he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.

And whilst Ferguson insisted the Old Trafford outfit would provide Fletcher with "all the time he needs", there must now be some doubt over the Scotland star ever playing at the highest level again.

"He has not started training with us," confirmed Ferguson.

    Great challenges

"He has obviously got great challenges ahead."We are happy to be patient but he won't be starting the season.

"It is unfortunate because he is such a magnificent professional and such a nice lad. If it doesn't work for him, he knows he has a position at the club anyway."
