An EXTRAORDINARY astronomical event has occurred in the last few days...
Have just had a disturbing telephone conversation with my Grandfathers eldest son, Michael Key, who is a Professor working at the William Lyre Research Facility near Aberdeen in Scotland.
Whilst this facility is not quite top-secret, its not well publicised either, and is funded by numerous governments and global agencies, including NASA for the purpose of monitoring deep space for gamma ray burst activity.
Recently at the facility, work has been completed on the FIBA device I think he calls it which detects and monitor fluctuations in burst activity.
This device went online about 2 months ago, and during the last 7 days has recorded massive Gamma Ray Burst activity coming from the region of the Orion constellation, one of the main constellations where the most interest is because of the precarious situation with Betelgeuse obviously.
When I say massive activity, he tells me they have so far actually been in the region of about 1200 times greater than that which they might have expected should Betelgeuse ever go supernovae, and it looks like it will be a long gamma ray burst that may last around six months with a potential peak somewhere in the middle of all that according to what he tells me.
He says what is really troubling is that the burst activity being detected from the Orion constellation is increasing at a massive rate on an hourly basis and is hitting earth full on and that it really doesn't bode well.
He won't confirm or deny whether they are stating Betelgeuse has gone supernovae, but he says it is indeed looking that way to him and his colleagues. He said there would be a light show, but sadly we won't be around to see it as the light will take another 630-650 years to reach the earth depending on a few factors.
