Its a romance combined with a brand new scify concept. I have never seen anything like it in my entire life. But you cant just throw an unpresidented idea to the viewers and hope for the best. Apart from bulding up the scientific idea you have to build a story too. A story with surprise , intense or at least emotional. For me that story part didnt hold up much. The movie In time suffered the same fate.

Inception had that good storyline supporting the core scientific structure.
