මචන්, මුලින්ම කියන්න ඕන උපාධියක් කියන එක රස්සාවකට තල්ලුවක් උනාට උපාධියක් තිබ්බ පලියට රස්සාවක් දෙන්න කවුරුවත් බැඳිලත් නෑ දෙන්නෙත් නෑ. මොනා හරි කරලා අවුරුදු හතරකින් උපාධියක් කරලා ආවත් තමන්ට රස්සාවක් කරන්න පුලුවන් කියලා ඉන්ටවිව් එකේ පෙන්නුවේ නැත්තන් වැඩක් නෑ.

4 year degree and GPA එක 2.8 ගානකුත් තියාගෙන repeats නැතුව ආවානම් ඉතින් යමක් කමක් කරගන්න පුලුවන් කෙනෙක් නේ ඔයා. මුලින්ම කරන්න ඕන දේ තමයි ඔයා ගැන ලෝකයට කියන නැත්තන් අපේ බාසාවෙන් CV එක හරියට තියෙනවාද කියලා බලන්න. මොකද ඒකේ මොනාහරි වැරැද්දක් තිබ්බා නම් කෙලින්ම කැපුනා තමයි. ඊලඟ දේ තමයි කඩ්ඩ හදාගන්න එක. ඔය මොක තිබ්බත් වැඩක් නෑ කඩ්ඩ නැත්තන්.

SLIIT එක ගැන නම් කියන්න දේවල් ගොඩාක් තියෙනවා. මුලින්ම කියන්න ඕන 4 year degree එක නම් හොඳට standard එකකින් හදලා තියෙනවා. practical exposure (new development technologies ) එක හොඳටම තියෙනවා. දැන් අලුත් modules එහෙමත් එකතු වෙලා නේ. අවුරුදු හතරක් ඒකේ ඉන්න නම් ඒ ළමයා යමක් කමක් කරන්න පුලුවන් කෙනෙක් වෙන්න ඕන. නැත්තන් ඔතන අවුරුදු 4 ක් රැඳෙන්න බෑ.

SLIIT එක students ලාව government uni එකේ ළමයි එක්ක compare කරාම job market එකේදී යම් කිසි කුඩම්මාගේ සැළැකිල්ලක් එනවා තමයි. ඉස්සර sliit එකේ modules එච්චර හොඳ නැති කාලේදි පවා අනිත් campus වලට සමාන සැලැකිල්ලක් තිබුනා. මෙතන ගැටලුව තියෙන්නේ උසස් පෙළ ගණිත අංශයෙන් පාස් වෙලා ලංකාවේ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයකින් එක අයට උසස් පෙළ එස් පාස් තුනෙන් යන උපාධියට වඩා උසස් කියන පිලිගැනීම. මැත්ස් කරලා කැමපස් යන එක සෙල්ලමක් නෙවෙයි. ඒ වුනත් ලංකාවේ කැම්පස් වලට යන්නේ නැතුව sliit එන අය ඕන තරම් ඉන්නවා. ජොබ් එකේදි ආණ්ඩුවේ කැම්පස් වල අයට වඩා හොඳට වැඩකරන sliit අයත් ඉන්නවා.

දැන් ලංකාවේ IT ඉල්ලුමට වඩා සැපයුම වැඩිවෙලා තියෙන්නේ. එතකොට ඉතින් අතිරික්තයක් ඇතිවෙනවා තමයි. ජොබ් ඕන තරම් තිබුනාට අලුතින් field එකට enter වෙන්න තමයි අමාරු. ඇතුලට ගිහිල්ලා අවුරුදු කීපයක් කට්ට කෑවා නම් ඉතින් ආයේ එයාව වට්ටන්න බෑ.

කලින් internship එකක් වගේ දෙයක් 4th year එකේදි කරලා තිබ්බා නම් (even unpaid one or at lease freelance projects ) ඔයාට ජොබ් එකක් කිසිම ගේමක් නැතුව ගන්න පුලුවන් කම තිබ්බා. IT වල qualifications වලටත් වඩා තැන දෙන්නේ experience වලට කියලා දන්නවා නේද ?. තමන්ගේ ඒ skills නැති එකට sliit එක පලි කියලා මම නම් හිතන්නේ නෑ. SLIIT doesn't force you for internship. You have to find those in final years. Those you did that is doing great now

ලිඳට වැටිච්ච එකා ලිං කටින්ම ගොඩ එන්න ඕන වගේ කොහොම හරි දාලා ජොබ් එකක් හොයාගන්න බලන්න. මම application 70 ක් විතර දාලා ඉන්ටවිව් 30 කට විතර ගිහිල්ලා තමයි ජොබ් එකක් හොයාගත්තේ.

දැන් හැමෝම IT කරනවා. අලුතින් කරන්න යන අයට මම කියන්නේ, ඇත්තටම IT වලට ආස නම් ඒක වෙනුවෙන් තමන්ගේ ජිවිතය කැපකරන්න පුලුවන් නම් විතරක් කරන්න. මොකද කරන්නන් වාලේ කොහොම හරි උපාධියක් ගන්න හිතන්න එපා. අවසානේ දුක් විඳින්න වෙයි.

thats the problem with SLIIT ( pardon me i m not insulting your institute ) but they enroll a huge batch just for earning purposes. And they pass out each and every one who enrolled. Only consider for money, then those people who pay and passed out dreaming for a company come to them and recruit them.

If SLIIT maintain condition and quality like other private institutes and government institutes they can offer huge potential and opportunities for their students.

I personally know situation here with virtusa. Since there are more than enough students they can recruit from SLIIT they dont pay any attention to determine whether their are really capable people. So even if you are a person who has good technical background and capable of doing something, you will be ignored because of that supply is high ( so the demand become low)

What you have to do is go for QA job for now ( trust me i know people who working with me that are capable of doing marvelous job but they accept the QA offer just to get onboard. ) Then being their as a QA try to change the track internally.
