well well I have clearly stated what is the situation now in the world.even I have the experience in private sector.I know very well that how many gov uni BSc degree holders are in pvt sector. It is not an issue that in Sri Lankan gov sector prefer BSc degree holders.whatever it is you are just talking about Sri Lanka. This thread is not the place for gov university degree holders or for ones who are hoping to go to gov uni degrees. :)

For all your information in Sri Lanka we are having "Bachelor of science of engineering degree" (At UOM, Pera and Ruhuna)Not Bsc in eng. Bsc in eng is not a worldwide recognized as per my knowledge and even it can be completed in 3 years from some institutes. But our Bsc(Hons)Eng is a four year degree.

    In Sri Lanka it's BSc.Eng.
Most countries accept all four year Engineering Degree Programmes accredited under the Washington Accord.

Do you know whether Sri Lankan gov uni degrees are under the Washington Accord or accredited by any body except IESL?? Look at the Washington Accord Sri Lanka are not even in the list.

Most of these Washigton Accord Accredited Engineering programs are BEng or BE not BSc or BSc Eng:no:

Honours are given according to GPA & no. of credits.
BE,BEng,BScEng are given according to the country,All 4 year courses are almost same.

I gave the Accredited programs list which is also the signatories...Sri Lanka is not under that??can you say why is that?

btw read this clearly and give a reply..its in the link you have provided..

"Organisations holding provisional status have been identified as having qualification accreditation or recognition procedures that are potentially suitable for the purposes of the Accord; those organisations are further developing those procedures with the goal of achieving signatory status in due course; qualifications accredited or recognised by organisations holding provisional status are not recognised by the signatories "

Sri Lanka is under "Organisations holding provisional status"

yep it's provisional, but only thing i say is every country is recognizing 4 year courses. if you are going to do whatever enginnering degree make sure it is a 4 year course.it will benifit you.

:yes::yes: Yeah that is what I also say.If you are doing a degree its better to do a 4 year degree.even if it is a 3 year degree there is no issue if you complete the MEng and complete the 4th year :yes:
