Yeah I know Northshore,ICBT and CINEC. You better ask Northshore they promote 4 year degree.yeah one can complete the BEng in 3 years.but in Northshore they ask you to complete the 4th year as people can get IESL  In CINEC yeah they don't promote the 4th year but it is available there  He or She can always do the MEng and complete the 4 year degree requirement if they want to. but yeah if you do in ICBT there isn't a way to complete the 4th year in Sri Lanka. :dull: but after completing the 3rd year one can go to the UK university and complete the 4th year.As you know bro in ICBT case it is University of Sunderland. :) but for one who did a degree in ICBT, it is expensive to go to UK. :sorry:

you can get IESL affiliate membership if you have a 3 year BEng degree ,

3 Three year full time degree at Kotalawala Defense University.
4 B Eng. Degrees of both local and foreign universities recognized under the Sydney Accord.

    ^those are from their website

after getting affiliate membership if you finish the IESL part 3 exams,
you can get the IESL associate membership. (AMIE)

or as always you can do a MEng and then get the associate membership.

Yeah machn I know this very well :yes::yes::yes: Some people have mentioned here BEng doesn't qualify you to get IESL so I gave a reply to that.I just stated that doing the 4th year directly qualify you to get the Associate membership. :) Yeah getting the Affiliate Membership is another path. This doing the 4th year case apply to mostly UK degrees only.anyway it is always better to do the 4th year as even to get Engineering Council UK membership one need to do the 4th year.

Anyway it is good that you have pointed this here bro.It is very valuable to this thread  Thanks bro rep+

Its not.:no: In UK after completing a 3 year degree you can always do the 4th year as a MEng.its not a masters.its too an Undergraduate degree.its the 4th year.go and ask IESL, they consider it as a 4 year degree. but yeah if you complete only 3 year degree you can't get IESL.but you can always do the 4th year as MEng and get the IESL.but I don't know what if you do a 1 year MSc

:sorry:

As I stated in the thread yeah in Sri Lanka BEng is not popular.it is mainly because gov universities give BSc degrees.but I talked about the situation in the world.not only about Sri Lanka.btw after completing reputed BEng degree I think one wouldn't want to work in Sri Lanka for so long. In ICBT case Sunderland is low ranked university so one wouldn't get the same recognition as Wolverhampton which CINEC provide and University of West of the England(UWE) which Northshore provide. It is the best UK university operated in Sri Lanka.(UWE)(in undergraduate level)

Some of my friends are doing there degrees at northshore and i have met DEAN of northshore personally, they told they are trying to get IESL ...but still they dont have IESL. Only SAITM & SINEC got IESL.

IESL not giving any membership to MEng . Just call them and ask. they will say please submit your all certificates and then we will try to give it... that is just like that.

Most ICBt students are doing MSC after B.Eng. that MSC can help for get IESl , But not yet confirmed.

Sunderland is a very Gud university. Its a poly technique university and all modules are teaching directly targeting the industry .

Machn first of all I want to say that no one gives a damn about getting IESL membership after doing a degree in UK/Aus/USA. when you get Engineers Australia Mebership or ECUK mebership IESL is nothing

anyway I want to mention that there is nothing like IESL giving membership.just call IESL and ask do we get IESL Associate memebership after doing the SAITM-AIT degree..they say they'll analyze the degree and then decide how they give it..if they think it not engough they'll ask to do 1 or 2 exams and will give it.I know this because I've asked this from them :yes: ask about any pvt institution they say the same thing whether it is SLIIT or CINEC or Northshore or whatever.I know Northshore Dean says that they don't have IESL yet.but its not correct even when they say they have IESL,still IESL will analyze the degree by case by case basis an then decide how they give the membership whether he or she have to do any modules or exam will be decided by IESL.even one who got MEng can get IESL mebership by doing one or 2 modules. No one can get it directly..or even in future I don't think IESL will give the Associate membership directly as they give it to Mora graduates.this is the real situation.:yes: hope you understand :) now don't even argue :P :)

telling about Sunderland their rank is very low.it is actually 1784.So that says it all  even Moratuwa is 2150. In UK Sunderland is 96th.machn that is very very low compared to other UK universities. If you know some UK people call and ask they might not even heard of Sunderland uni

http://www.thecompleteuniversitygui...ankings?s=Electrical & Electronic Engineering I dont know weather you have any problem with ICBT people. you might be a person of marketing manager of north shore or someone. please dont try to underestimate the power of ICBT and do not try to tell sunderland is a bad university.

Uk people know what is sunderland. Even Prince Charles.

You always speak about the SAITM CINEC ..might you are a person from SB dissanayaka. Lot of students have HND + Degree im talking about them. dont try to make them hurt.

:angry: wtf bn.um not a person of anyone.. you are one of my friends in EK.So I don't know why you say something like that machn.

anyway I just gave the real situation. Didn't you read my second paragraph in last comment??? I don't favour any of the pvt instituions in Sri Lanka. Now clearly get what I say.!!!

    1. what I say is currently NON of the Private Institutions can get IESL Associate membership directly. All of these Instituions are just bluffing.Even SAITM or Northshore or WHATEVER IESL don't give the Assoicate Membership to anyone of these private Instituion students directky.IESL will analyze and may ask to do few exams and modules and then will decide how they give it.Only Mora Pera Ruhuna students can get IESL directly. The only other people can get IESL directly is the one who have studied in a Washington Accord Country. If you have studied in UK/Aus/USA/NZ etc you can get IESL Automatically. but not in a Sri Lankan Institutions  everyone should know this situation. I just explained the situation don't get me wrong :dull::oo:

    2. Machn I told that Sunderland is 96th in the UK by looking at this link http://www.webometrics.info/en/Europe/United%20Kingdom

Even in the link you gave.Sunderland is 65th out of 73  that says it all ne mchn :) So you still say Sunderland is one of the good universitis operated in Sri Lanka?I really don't have any problem with ICBT :no: PLease Understand that I am just trying to explaing the truth.I mean if you want a good UK university there are way better UK universities operated in Sri Lanka.Look at the link you gave.all of the other UK universities operated in Sr Lanka are better than Sunderland.I really don't say Sunderland is bad.but there are better options :) I dont' want to hurt anyone there is nothing wrong in doing top up.but you need to know the correct situation without being in a dream world..

even I dont' know everything machn.but I just explained what I know which are 100% true.If you think I am favouring a perticular Instituion then I can't help it.:oo:
