I used Win 8.1 Enterprise edition sometime back. Damn it gets slow as hell. Reinstalled twice. Runs well for few days but when you start doing heavy work, it gets incredibly slow. I normally keep about 15 tabs open in chrome + media player and some few other softwares. Most of the time it was really really slow. It was really frustrating that I almost wanted to throw away my computer. :growl::growl::growl:That's how my experience was. Don't know how it is for others. Now I am using Windows 7. Smooth and Efficient. :):)

probably something's wrong with your pc. or was it a pirated copy? windows 8 is faster, smoother and efficient than win7 in every possible way.

No clue what's went wrong with it. I used Windows Enterprise 8.1 RTM released in October 2013. Original copy. It was on a trail period but I got it activated with KMS. ;);) worked fine for sometime. Suddenly hard drive usage started go as high as 100% and system was virtually unusable even when the system was in idle with no activity at all. I am running on a 6GB ram so I can't think of any virtual memory case. Tried everything. Finally gave up. You won't believe how many times I wanted to smash my computer off the desk.:lol: It was that frustrating

Didn't think of that before. I also turned off indexing service but it had no effect. Nothing wrong with Windows 7 up to now but I should keep an eye out on the HDD anyway. Thanks buddy :):)
