thing is babala, for android to run smoother ,faster and without lagging and stucking, you need lot of power. that is why you are seeing all these quad core, octa core phones with 2-3GB rams. think again, even your laptop/desktop doesn't have that much power if you carefully consider. and think how much processing you are doing with your laptop which has 2GB ram and dual core or core i3 processor.
Android need awfully lot of resources to keep everything in place. It is very stressfull to the low end hardware, which causes all those lagging. I mean android OS runs on linux ne. (virtual machine).
and android is a generic jelly bean os. every phone manufacturer gets copy of it customize it and use. Android is made to fit any supporting hardware (generic).
on the other hand windows is not made for support all devices. it is very hardware optimized. they have made the OS to fit their hardware. they dont have to worry about hardware from all other manufacturers. because of this level of optimization, we get most smoothest and fastest os with least number of crashes and hangs.
because OS is optimized windows phone can run with simly a 1GHz processor and 512ram. (this is why most of windows phones have 512 rams and 1G processors) because of this, (need of low processing power)windows phone has very good battery life, compared to Android.
so I dont know you decide.
P.S. I'm a windows fan, I own windows laptop, windows 8.1 pro tablet and windows 8.1 mobile. why ? because
I brought those stuff to get my work done. And they do that well. since all three platforms are same, synchronization is very easy. I can run all my PC software on tablet. so whenever I don't have the laptop, I can do my work seamlessly using the tab. My lumia is well connected, through outlook and office apps. which is very easy for my job. just thinking out loud
