Emirates Airbus A380 EK201 declares emergency travelling over UK
Flight diverted after declaring emergency
A huge passenger jet is being forced to make an emergency landing in Manchester.
The Emirates Airbus A380 Flight EK201 had left Dubai this morning and was bound for JFK Airport in New York.
However, as the plane coasted at around 38,000ft above Scotland this afternoon, it reported an emergency and is now headed to Manchester Airport.
The diversion is the latest in a series of air emergencies reported following the tragic crashing of a Germanwings flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf.
The plane is scheduled to land in Manchester at around 2.30pm this afternoon.
According to reports online, the Airline reported the incident as a medical emergency, but no further details have been given.
