Dead Island 2 delayed into 2016 to ensure series is “taken to the next level”
Dead Island 2 has been delayed into 2016 by Yager in order to ensure the sequel “takes Dead Island to the next level.”According to a tweet from the developer, it set “big goal” for the game, and in order to deliver what fans expect, the team needs more time to reach development goals.
“We have always set ourselves a big goal for Dead Island 2: to create the sequel that takes Dead Island to the next level,” reads the statement. “A game that takes what our fans tell us they love about Dead Island – multiple different characters to play with, co-op, and turning a paradise setting into a zombie slaughter melee – and a game that adds a ton more content and combat options on top of that.
“We have been looking at the game long and hard, and we have decided we didn’t reach that goal we set out to achieve quite yet. This is why we have decided to delay Dead Island 2 to 2016.”
Yager said it originally planned to have the game completed for the previously announced spring release, but delaying the game will ensure “a better game to play as a result.”Earlier this month it was rumored Dead Island 2 had been delayed into September. It was announced at E3 2014 for a spring 2015 release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The game was originally set to be developed by Techland as a sequel to the studio’s 2011 release, but the team went on to develop Dying Light instead. It was rumored Yager had been brought on to develop the co-op zombie shooter before being confirmed later by publisher Deep Silver.

GTA 5 PC patch fixes garage, Job crashes – full notes here
Rockstar has pushed out a 353 MB patch for GTA 5 on PC.
The patch fixes a number of annoying bugs related to vehicles and garages, some deathmatch issues and purchase errors.It should also fix various freezing and crashing bugs, as well as a little issue with Steam.
Time will tell if the patch has any effect on the various singleplayer and online mods that are proving so popular.
Full patch notes below:
- Vehicles in your garage can no longer be accidentally replaced with vehicles from the street.
- Improved stability and fixed several crashes and hangs while transitioning between Jobs in GTA Online.
- Fixed an issue where certain players were unable to exit their garages while inside of a personal vehicle.
- Fixed an issue where the game could freeze if you were robbing a store while someone else was attempting to buy snacks there.
- A rare issue has been fixed where some players received a “Purchase Failed” error when attempting to buy apartments.
- Fixed an issue where players would be asked to quit the game while using text chat in Golf and pressing the “E” key.
- GTA Online characters can now be added to your shortlist in the Rockstar Editor.
- Fixed several clipping issues that occurred when taking Snapmatic selfies.
- One-on-One Vehicle Deathmatches in Free Roam will now properly spawn all participants in vehicles.
- Fixed a Steam-only issue where you could not alt-tab back into GTAV if you alt-tabbed out while the Steam overlay was active.
- Various fixes to bring improved patch download speeds.
- Improvements to matchmaking so players that have good connections to each other are matched together more frequently.
- Fixed a Steam-only issue where players could not use Mexican Spanish as a subtitle language.
- General stability fixes for director mode and video editor.
- Various crash fixes.
- Fixes for issues caused by launching the game in offline mode.
