why dont we have a proper shopping mall in sri lanka ? we got some old 90s malls that we can count from our fingers.

we are still a developing country. Most of people don't have a strong disposable income, so people tend to go for savings and purchase valued assets (vehicles, lands, jewelries ec) shopping efforts are very minimum and do not looking for branded lifestyles, always looking for durable products at a cheap prices. prices at shopping malls usually expensive than general shops. another reason is buying pattern, since people have less disposable income most of people tend to shopping according to a plan or a season (april, dec) therefore shopping malls in a developing country are mostly use only for WINDOW SHOPPING
