Is it legal for hospitals to do this?

I had a lumber puncture recently. Before the procedure, I was asked to sign a consent form where I would release the hospital/ doctors from any mishap.

My question is what would happen if the procedure was not done correctly? Now I get a pain in the area where the lumber puncture was performed .

Is this the practice at all Sri Lankan hospitals? How about the ones abroad?

Please share your opinion.

any where in the world: for any invasive procedure, informed written consent is taken after explaining all the risks involved.

if you have any doubt, you can always decline the procedure beforehand (Patient's autonomy). then the doctor is not responsible for delays in diagnosis, expenses of additional tests etc.

LP එකෙන් පස්සෙ එතන කැක්කුම ආව නම් එක්කො මෙයාගෙ උසට හරියට බර නෑ නැත්තම් උසට නියමිත බරට වඩා ඇඟේ බර වැඩියි. බඩවැලේ ස්නායු දුර්වල වීම නිසා ඔඩු දුවන ලෙඩක් වගේ.
