The most ridiculous bit of the whole season perhaps?
Brandon Stark :- Robert’s rebellion was based on a lie.
So Mr. Three-eyed-raven, which bit was a lie??
1. Rhaegar took Robert's fiancée somewhere secret without any explanation and without the knowledge of her family.
2. Brandon committed treason because he challenged the crown prince. He may have had good reason but he did commit treason.
3. Instead of putting him (any maybe his friends) to death, the Mad King captured the entire company of Brandon, including the heir to the Vale, a Glover, a Mallister and a Royce and then called in ALL their fathers.
4. He killed all the sons and their fathers. He murdered the Lord of the North and the heir of the North in a cruel and vile manner disregarding the laws he himself supposed to uphold. (That makes the Warden of the North & his son, the heir to the Vale as well as two other lords & their sons.)
5. Seeing enemies everywhere, he demanded that Jon Arryn turn over Robert and Ned (who are totally innocent and knew nothing) for execution.
6. Jon Arryn refused and called his bannermen.
And that was Robert’s rebellion.
Instead of Rhaegar being an idiot rapist who causes the death of his family and thousands upon thousands of innocent men, women and children, he's an idiot romantic who causes the death of his family and thousands upon thousands of innocent men, women and children.
