FYI

Mi 5X is a China only device that has Miui as the Operating system and it does not have LTE channel 20 which is used in many countries outside China.

Mi A1 has stock Android version 7 (soon to be 8) and LTE channel 20 and is marketed for about 12 countries around the world but it has a fully international version of Android.
If you buy Mi 5X you need to be aware that it has a Chinese Rom that does not include Google apps and although it can have Google installed it will not be fully integrated like it is on a Global Rom.

You also need to be aware that Bootloader unlocking is not available at this time so you will not be able to use a custom Rom.
You also need to be aware that several sellers on Aliexpress and also GeekBuying have been selling these devices with a hacked bootloader and a FAKE Global Rom and these hacked devices cannot be upgraded and can easily become bricked if you try to change the Rom.
